At least seven people died and more than two hundred were wounded after the passing of the powerful typhoon Jebi, broadcasted the press media.
Some of the wounded were in a train station of the Kioto city when a glass section of the ceiling collapsed due to strong winds which reached to far areas of the storm, like the metropolitan zone of this capital, reported the news agency of Kyodo.
Images from the chain television NHK showed dismounted scaffolds because of the wind, trees on the ground, shop stores glasses broken, twisted posts, over flooded streets, turned around trucks and an agitated sea in every direction.
The international airport of Kansai, located in an artificial island of Osaka harbor cancelled its operations due to the increase of the sea level and three thousand passengers stood stuck there since the crash of an oil ship broke the bridge that connects the airport and Izumisano city.
As a consequence of the storm the train services were cancelled and the airlines susended more than 750 domestic flights mainly in the western region of Japan.
Jebi became the first typhoon cataloged as really strong by the Japanese meteorologist agency since 1993, when another powerful storm left 48 dead people or missing.
This is the 23rd typhoon that goes through the country during this season, which has been especially intense regarding the frequency and intensity of this kind of meteorologist phenomena.
More than 220 people died this summer as a result of these typhoons and heavy rains in the Asiatic nation.
