On Tuesday, Cuba ratified its commitment to the full exercise of the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of the people; during the high level segment of the Human Rights Council.

During the 43rd regular session of the Human Rights Council, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla met Tuesday with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet.

During the meeting, the Cuban Foreign Minister ratified to the High Commissioner the commitment of the Cuban government to the promotion and protection of all human rights for all, while informing Bachelet about the resurgence of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the States United against Cuba and its negative effects on the human rights of the Cuban people.

He also denounced the United States campaign against the medical cooperation of Cuba with other countries and highlighted the international recognition of this cooperation and its impact on the right to health of millions of people in the world, Cubaminrex said Tuesday.

In a respectful environment, other topics of common interest in human rights were reviewed and Cuba’s permanent willingness to cooperate with United Nations procedures and mechanisms in human rights that have universal application, on non-discriminatory basis, of strict respect for our sovereignty and with recognition of the right of self-determination.
