Cuba reports 330 new cases of Covid-19, 417 medical discharges and two deaths

The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported on Tuesday two deaths and 330 samples positive for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a cumulative of 18,773 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation.

During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at the end of this Monday, 9,483 patients were admitted, of them 4,242 suspects, 4,350 confirmed and 894 in epidemiological surveillance.

Durán explained that the country carried out 12,676 samples the day before for a cumulative of 1 million 713 thousand 810 samples analyzed.

The epidemiologist announced that of the 330 patients diagnosed, 325 are Cuban and 5 are foreigners. Of these, 304 with a source of infection in already confirmed cases, 9 with a source abroad and in 17 people the source of infection is unknown.

Of the total confirmed, 164 are male and 166 female. Regarding the age groups, 38 patients were diagnosed under 19 years of age and 441 in pediatric ages remain active hospitalized. In the ages of 19 to 39 years, 129 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years about 103 cases and 60 people older than 63 years.

He specified that, of the 18,773 patients diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of it, 4,350 confirmed hospitalizations, 4,309 of them with stable clinical evolution. 175 deaths are reported (2 in the last day) for a fatality of 0.94%. The two evacuees remain, 32 returnees and 14,214 recovered patients (417 discharges of the day) accumulate. 22 patients in critical condition and 19 patients in serious condition are reported.
