The International Workshop “Cuba Eólica 2019” based in Havana, between July 10 and 12 next will emphasize the use of wind power for energy purposes in the largest of the Antilles.
Center for the Study of Renewable Energy Technologies
The Center for the Study of Renewable Energy Technologies (CETER) belonging to the Technological University of Havana José Antonio Echeverría, Cujae, is the reference university center for wind energy that, jointly with the University of Holguin, has the task of directing and to put into practice the training of human resources and research and development activities in this field.
CETER, together with other institutions, has been developing workshops on wind energy for many years. The first National Workshop on Wind Energy was held in 1993 at the Solar Energy Research Center in Santiago de Cuba. Twenty years later, he organized the 12th World Wind Energy Conference at the Havana Convention Center in 2013 in partnership with the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA). The V International Wind Energy Workshop was held within the framework of the International Renewable Energy Conference (CIER 2017). Last year, the International Operation Workshop took place the maintenance of Wind Farms in Holguín and currently, it organizes the International Workshop of Logistics and Construction of Wind Farms in Las Tunas. The experience of CETER in this subject allows it to lead the scientific activity on wind energy in conjunction with other centers of the Technological University of Havana José Antonio Echeverría, Cujae.
This event has the support of the Ministry of Higher Education (MES) and the National Group of Universities for Renewable Sources of Energy and other institutions linked to scientific activities on wind issues, such as the Institute of Meteorology as well as the business system with organizations such as GESIME of the Ministry of Industries and the Ministry of Construction.
