Al cierre de este lunes 29 de marzo de 2021, Cuba reportó 1008 nuevos casos de COVID-19, para un acumulado de 74 212 casos confirmados desde marzo de 2020. Además, cuatro fallecidos, informó este martes en su comparecencia televisiva diaria el doctor Francisco Durán García, director nacional de Epidemiología del Ministerio de Salud Pública (Minsap).
Respecto a los fallecidos, Durán García transmitió las condolencias a familiares y amigos. Señaló que se trata de un paciente de 90 años de edad, del municipio Playa en La Habana; un paciente de 86 años de edad, del municipio Holguín, en esta provincia; un paciente de 58 años de edad, del municipio Plaza, en La Habana; y una paciente de 76 años de edad del municipio Arroyo Naranjo en la capital. Todos eran contactos de casos positivos y presentaban comorbilidades que hicieron más tórpida la evolución de los mismos.
Cuba amanece con 22 792 pacientes ingresados: 3 447 sospechosos, 15 478 en vigilancia y 3 867 confirmados (casos activos), cifra que se incrementa.
De acuerdo con el especialista, fueron procesadas 20 421 muestras en los 23 laboratorios de biología molecular del país, de las que 1008 resultaron positivas (4.94 % de positividad), 307 más que el día anterior. Cuando este indicador llega al 5 %, habla de una fuerte transmisión en el territorio.
Se acumulan 2 963 852 muestras estudiadas, de las cuales 74 212 (2.5 %) han resultado positivas.
