El Primer Secretario del Comité Central del Partido Comunista de Cuba y Presidente de la República, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, agradeció este lunes a la Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribeños (CELAC) por el gesto solidario de apoyo para enfrentar la Covid-19 en el país. En su cuenta de Twitter el jefe de estado agradeció al bloque regional el envío de 800 mil jeringuillas con agujas para contribuir al proceso de vacunación en Cuba; y particularmente a México, que ostenta la presidencia temporal del mecanismo de integración. También el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores de Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, expresó su agradecimiento a la Celac y resaltó que ahora más que nunca se impone la cooperación mancomunada. La carga recibida en el archipiélago cubano se une a las entregas de ventiladores mecánicos y vacunas a otros países miembros, como parte de la estrategia del bloque para contrarrestar el impacto de la emergencia sanitaria.
